Cast on 120 stitches
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: Purl
Row 3: Knit
Row 4: Purl
Row 5: Knit
Row 6: Purl
Row 7: Knit
Row 8: Purl
Rows 9 to 16: Work in reverse stocking stitch (beginning with a purl row)
Row 17: Knit 20, [-- With yarn forward, slip next stitch purlwise, place yarn at back and drop it, you will not use yarn to bind off stitches,
*slip next stitch purlwise, with left needle pass 2nd stitch on right needle over 1st stitch
(1 stitch bound off).
Repeat from * until you have bound off a total of 40 stitches. Slip last stitch to left needle. TURN (wrong side of work is now facing).
Move yarn to back and using cable method, cast on 41 stitches (this is one more than was bound off), bringing the yarn forward before placing the last stitch on the left needle.
TURN (Right side of work is now facing) with yarn in back, slip the next stitch from left needle to the right needle (being careful not to stretch it), and using left needle, pass the extra stitch on right needle over the top of the slipped stitch.
Slip this stitch back onto the left needle and knit into the back of it. --] Knit 9, repeat from [-- to --] for another hole, knit to end.
Row 18: Purl
Row 19 to 24: Work in stocking stitch (beginning with a knit row)
Row 25 to 32: Work in reverse stocking stitch (beginning with a purl row).
Row 33: Knit 45, work a hole as in row 17 from [-- to --], knit 34.
Repeat rows 2 to 33 a total of 7 times.
Next row: Purl
Work 6 more rows in stocking stitch
Work 8 rows in reverse stocking stitch.
Bind off.
Block lightly if required.
